Q Just moved in to a very small studio and would like to make my sleeping area private on a budget.

You could use ceiling curtain rod with a curtain that could be drape close at night and open in daytime to give you open space plan. In addition you could also use a open shelve unit that divides the sleeping area and provides storage space, make sure you display thing orderly so that is aesthetically pleasing and functional at the same time. Check out Troast and Expedit systems ( ikea.com) for some great inexpensive options. Giselle

Q My daughters is off to college and I would like to surprise her with a nice room makeover, could you recommend any ideas for the walls that are not permanent.

One product I’m loving right now is Tempaper, ( www.tempaperdesigns.com) which is like contact paper for your walls that can be easily applied and just as easily removed. It’s great way to add pattern or pop of color to any room without worrying about damaging your walls or having to repaint before you move out. Tony

Q I would like to paint my guest room in a mustard yellow, but I am not sure what other color I should introduce to the room, so that it does not look like a big sunflower.

Since yellow is such a strong color you might want to introduce a grounding color such as black, grey or navy, which are great compliments to yellow, in addition you could introduce some prints which could break up the color and give you some visual interest. Mia

Q I desperately need to set up a home office in my small apartment, but it’s hard to share the space with my family. Help!

Try a wall, corner or even a closet, an underused corner is ideal for an efficient hideaway office. Add a desk and some shelves, in addition try to stay organized, then assigning a place to stow away the day’s work when you are done for the day. You could cub clutter with some storage bins, shelving space and storage boxes. Think of a great color or theme to keep the space separate from the rest of the apartment and not a dumping ground for the family. Giselle

Q How do I keep my kids toys tidy and at easy for them to reach?

You could use stylish play bins with and without wheels, use low shelves for things the kids can access, and higher ones for things that call for more adult help. Tony

We are redoing our master bath. Picked beige tile for the walls with a glass accent which has browns and golds in it. The floor is slate which has yellows, browns and reds in it – not thus usual slate colors. I need help with vanity color – looking into a dark cherry (brownish/black) but what color top? Also should I do a white sink and toilet or should they be bisque(beige)? White is really no where else in the room so not sure how this will look, but will bisque be too much beige in the room? Thanks

I think you could do white on the sink- toilet and tub even if you are using slate colors, as long as you have at least 2 of these elements in the white color. You might want to add a glass sink bowl which could be a great complimentary to your glass accent tile. Hope this help. If you have any other questions please email us at designers@roominteriorsonline. Hope we helped !
