BOHEMIAN BRIGHTS FOR COMING SEASON

BOHEMIAN BRIGHTS FOR COMING SEASON

Pops of colors are seen everywhere from accessories, materials textiles and furniture. Perhaps is the optimism for the future but when we attended the NY NOW show in January we notice that there where great bright color combinations, fabulous texture weaves and many vendors mixing it all together and letting loose. The interpretation and displays in the show was like if we were in the middle of an exotic island or far away worlds. Mind you that it was snowy and cold outside in New York it sure felt like summer inside. For those who are not familiar with the NY Now I would describe it as a platform for vendors and manufactures could showcase their product so you get to see all the new furniture, home accessories, textiles, flooring and many more to name under one roof at the Jacob Javits in New York .

To begin by summarizing the show I will tell you that there where elements from different cultures all mixed together and, even though it might sound like a chaotic combination, it’s all harmonious and beautifully combined. The displays were relaxed colorful, bohemian styles is all about the textiles, colorful mixture of styles. Try mixing gypsy colors, hippie bohemian and ethnic elements. There are many elements that create boho decor, ranging from painted vintage furniture to Moroccan-inspired lanterns. The result is a design with optimal originality and personalized style for any room in the home. When trying to achieve the look make sure it shows your personality with the incorporation of bold color, selective upholstery and mixed patterns. Add Moroccan style pillows in a variety of colors and take inspiration from Latin America, Africa and India.

Bohemian look is a great design where you can add your personality and the great thing is you can do yourself by shopping antique markets and thrift stores to find eclectic, vintage inspired furniture to amplify the bohemian décor. Here is where you can really stretch your creativity and fill the décor with unconventional accents. There is no need for unity in bohemian design. The look is individualized at its best.
